A Note From the Junior President
My name is Brett King and I am extremely thankful for the honor to be reelected as President of the American Junior Red Brangus Association. I was reelected at the past 2019 AJRBA Show in June. My family has been in Red Brangus for 4 generations. I live in Creole, Louisiana.
What another great show in the great town of Bryan, Texas! The show was a huge success.
I had an awesome time catching up with old friends and meeting many new ones. The competitions challenged our abilities in displaying cattle, public speaking, recognize farm equipment and tools, and most importantly knowledge of the breed. The show was a fun time and a great learning experience for myself as well as everyone else. I would like to congratulate all of the winners and thank everyone for participating in all of the contests.
As many of you all know our Red Brangus cattle are the original heat tolerant breed of cattle which is important during this major heat wave we are having. They are known for having
good fleshing and having a docile temperament. They are also good mothers with high milk quality and have low birth weights and high weaning weights. Red Brangus are also very disease resistant. I would like to give a special thanks to last year’s officers for such a great year. I would also like to thank the American Red Brangus President, Ms. Elaine Monaghan, for all the advice and effort she put forth to help make the AJRBA better. I can’t wait to work with the newly elected officers this year as well as the junior directors.
AJRBA President, Brett King
