Presidents Message

We are off and running in 2017.

Our first Board of Directors Meeting was held January 21st in the Dripping Springs office. Plans were made to hold our Annual Meeting and Sale again at Hills Prairie Auction, Bastrop, Texas. The Annual Meeting will be held on Friday September 22nd and the Sale will be on Saturday the 23rd, if you missed the sale in 2016 you missed an awesome event, sale results are published in this journal. Please contact Kurt Trammell at 830-857-4943 for information about the sale.

The Board also decided to do a bull development test, at Graham Land and Cattle, in Gonzales, Texas, that will begin in June, contact Dr. Richard Gingles 228-209-8490 for information.

Our next Board of Directors meeting will be held on June 10th in Gonzales, Texas. Our National Junior Show will be held July 26th through the 30th in Bryan, Texas at the Brazos County Expo Center. The Juniors are our future, please support them with your donation when you are contacted.

On February 14th I along with Kurt Trammell and Donna Allen attended the American Breeds Coalition Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. The American Breeds Coalition is a group representing Brahman influenced breeds of beef cattle. I have the honor of being one of the five founding members of establishing the coalition. The coalition promotes our cattle in numerous places over the year.

The Coalition has been to Florida, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas and Georgia promoting our cattle. I encourage all breeders to become a member of the coalition, dues are $50.00 per year and well worth the money. Please contact Michele for an application. Kurt Trammel was elected Vice-President, Dr. Charles Graham was re-elected President. If you have questions or would like more information about the coalition please contact me.

2017 also marks another mile stone.

Michele Hanson our Office Manager in the Dripping Springs office will be celebrating her 10th Anniversary with the association. Michele is an asset to our association and I appreciate all she does for us. Please contact her before calling Kansas City, for any questions about your registration papers, invoices or other concerns. She is there to help with any problems you may have. Congratulations Michele on 10 wonderful years.

The American Red Brangus Association continues to be financially strong and a voice in the cattle industry. In closing I would like to say, thank you for electing me President, it is an honor and a privilege to serve you, you are my family. Thank you to all the Board members for your countless hours serving our members. I also want to say a very special thank you to Michele Hanson for all her hard work and dedication.
